We promote Technology Skills through Competition
The Georgia Student Technology Competition (GaSTC) is Georgia’s premier statewide technology competition, hosted by the Georgia Educational Technology Consortium. Open to students in 3rd through 12th grade, this annual event invites participants to innovate, collaborate, and excel across a spectrum of digital categories.
Each year over 1,000 students are showcased and judged at the state level; making it the highest tier of student tech competition in the state.
Mission & Legacy
Our mission is to motivate students to pursue creativity in technology and become future innovators in their local and global communities. Founded by Lou Dewberry in 2001, the competition has honored excellence through projects and includes a memorial scholarship for high school seniors.
How to Participate
Regional first-place winners receive automatic entry to the state competition. Students present their work in person, and judges evaluate using structured rubrics that focus on technical skills and the creative process.
Explore Our Categories
With a broad range of categories, from 3D Modeling to Robotics, students are encouraged to find the area that best highlights their talents. Each category includes clear guidelines, permitted tools, and expectations.
Programming Competition
For coders in grades 5–12, the Georgia Student Programming Competition provides a focused, proctored coding challenge on HackerRank. Students may compete solo or in teams of up to three, using approved languages like Python, Java, C++, and JavaScript. No outside resources or AI tools are allowed during this specific contest.
Stay in the Loop
We strive to stay current with industry leading technology categories. We will post to our updates page with any new changes for the upcoming year.
