Georgia Student Programming Challenge

Date: November 11th @ 10:00 AM - Virtual room will open 1 hour prior to the start time

Individuals or teams of up to three students in grades 5-12

Here are the main things you need to know before the event.

Approved Programming Languages: C99, C++11, Java, and Python3

New this year

  • This competition is open to any students in the state of Georgia

  • Students will not be competing for specific regions like in the past

  • Students must be in the same room as the teacher/sponsor. It is suggested that the students compete from a school location

  • Students are not allowed to use ChatGPT or any other generative AI tools during the competition

  • Teams can be individuals or Teams of up to 3 participants

  • We are BETA testing a 5th and 6th grade competition this year

  • The top ten (10) teams will advance to the Spring competition against the top winners from Alabama’s competition. The date is tentatively scheduled for February 10th.

Here are the items that you will need to accomplish to be a part of the State Programming Challenge Competition:

  • If you did not participate in this event last year, you need to make an account at https://actecomp.org/ 

  • One person from each team needs to fill out the Registration form using the link above. (Before filling out, each team member needs to have a login to the https://actecomp.org/ system, and you will need to provide the username.)

  • Previous students should use their current logins on the competition website and are not to create duplicate accounts. Users can use the “Forgot Password” link on the competition website if needed. 

  • Sponsors/teachers may create an account on the competition website to monitor the competition.

  • Your team needs to be registered by October 26th. NO late registrations will be allowed.

More information will be sent out to all registered teams after registration closes.
